We made it, it's Friday, time to relax and unwind for the weekend! This weekend is packed with checking some items off our wedding planning to-do list and engagement pictures on Sunday. Many of my afternoons lately have been spent running around the city, looking for the perfect dress for our engagement photos, and the typical every day errands. When out and about, I often stick with simple basics and try to add a bit of edge to my look. This sheer boyfriend tee paired with two of my ultimate favorite go-to pieces, wax coated pants and a cross body bag, allowed for running around town, yet still looking put together. I hope you all have some fun weekend plans and TGIF!!!

As I mentioned earlier in the week, this past weekend was spent in Stone Harbor, NJ attending a college friend's wedding. As I went back and forth on what dress to wear (I didn't want to dress too summery, but also not in full fledged fall or dark colors since the wedding was down the shore), I finally landed on this CYNTHIA STEFFE Marnie dress. The shimmer gold coin color paired along side the ruffle hem screamed September wedding to me, but was also transitional enough that I am confident I will have plenty opportunities to wear it again in the coming months. This dress is from the CeCe line which embraces the gal who "lives in the moment, is wild at heart and is the 'it' girl." You can shop this line for adorable pieces that don't break the bank. You better believe I have already planned how to wear this dress in the winter holidays, black opaque tights with a slouchy black knit tossed over and finished off with a pair of ankle booties!

What better way to start the day than a round up of some of my favorite sweaters that are currently on the shelves? During the cooler months I love nothing more than the cozy feeling a sweater offers. And I certainly don't discriminate when it comes to my sweater selection - oversized and chunky, more fitted and sleek, you name it, I just can't seem to ever get my fill. Imagine this sweater (in cream) with these coated denim pants or this cropped sweater with an adorable A-line skirt (similar to my outfit here)....are you sold on sweaters yet?! Maybe it stems from the fact that I am perpetually cold, but once September rolls around it is difficult to find me in anything else! Do you all have a favorite item for this time of year?

Although I am definitely gearing up for Fall, I have been enjoying wearing some light layers (such as this bomber jacket) with shorts while the weather permits. This past weekend we were down in Stone Harbor, New Jersey for a wedding. On Sunday, the day of the wedding, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day to walk around this quaint beach town. After grabbing breakfast at my favorite spot, Uncle Bill's Pancake House, we decided to take a walk and happened to stumble upon the Stone Harbor Yacht Club, where we snapped these pictures. It was a little cooler out, so I took the opportunity to pull this silk bomber jacket out of my closet, and paired it with my favorite distressed denim shorts and Jack Purcell sneaks. I always love visiting the shore off season - it gives me a chance to take in the scenery, and enjoy the restaurants and shops without the usual summer crowd! Do you all have a favorite summer destination you like to visit during the off season?

A deep pleated, tweed midi skirt is an essential for fall. The fabric down to the silhouette provides you with that working girl takes on happy hour, polished chic look. This skirt is from Wolf & Badger - if you are not familiar with the website, definitely check it out for unique designer pieces (they feature mostly independent fashion, jewelry, and other accessories). I actually paired this with a peplum top (tucked in so you can't see the peplum), and I went with my favorite gold link necklace to tie in the gold heel detail on the heels. These new beauties from heels.com are definitely a contender for my new favorite heel. I love how they are closed toe to transition into fall, yet have cut out details as well. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
