OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

This post is one that I hold near and dear to my heart and have been waiting to share with you all. Today, October 24th, 2014 marks the official one year countdown until I get to marry Matt. If you have been following along with Styled Snapshots for awhile now, or if you are a more recent follower, you can see our proposal story here. I thought it was only appropriate to share our engagement photos (and apologies for the picture overload) with you all on the day that marks one year. We wanted to re-capture some of the special day when Matt proposed, so we shot a lot of the pictures right in Grand Central. This is Matt's official debut on the blog (thankfully I could bribe him with his favorite buffalo chicken dip) and a day we will add to the pile of those we will never forget. After Grand Central, we headed up to Central Park and brought our furry family member, Hadley along to join in. Rachel Pearlman did an impeccable job capturing every detail and especially our personalities and love for one another. We are thrilled to have her with us on our wedding day next October. I hope you all enjoy taking a peek and let the official one year countdown BEGIN!! Kendall Kremer sounds pretty nice, doesn't it?! ;) You can follow along with my wedding plans, details, etc. via instagram over the next year with the hashtag #StyledSnapshotsWedding.

Side note: I was so fortunate to have my make-up done for this shoot by the ever so talented Rob Harmon (fun fact - he is the makeup artist for the cast of Wicked!). As we spent the morning together gossiping over coffee, wedding details and of course make-up, he told me about a beauty product that he developed called The Magic Pads. These cleansing pads are unscented and made from all natural ingredients and are used to treat/prevent blemishes, aging and problem skin. I took home a sample and have become obsessed. My skin feels fresh and clean and I don't have to worry about any harsh chemicals on my face while trying to keep my skin looking it's best!

CAMEL COAT

As some of you may have observed by now, I have a slight obsession with coats, especially a traditional camel coat. I truly believe that every gal should own at least one classic, structured, longer coat that can be worn casual or to a more fancy event. Sometimes it is hard to bring yourself to invest in such a piece, but take a moment to think about how much you will wear it. I personally love the leather buckle in this particular coat - it instantly transforms this coat into appearing more like a cape. My biggest piece of advice when debating to splurge on a coat is to think to yourself if it can "wear many hats," such as this French Connection one. If you are unsure about the camel and the two tone contrast with the leather sleeves it is also available in black!

WISH LIST WEDNESDAY: LORD & TAYLOR FRIENDS & FAMILY SALE

Usually when it rains I prefer to stay inside on the couch, watching movies all day and debating whether to change out of my pajamas (which isn't likely). This particular Saturday morning we had a wedding to attend which was a black tie reception (see that post here), but I wanted something a bit more practical and casual for the church ceremony earlier in the day. This black embroidered knit dress by Cynthia Steffe, available at Lord & Taylor, allowed me to be comfortable and functional all at once. The material hugs you in all the right places, while allowing room for movement. All I needed to add was a trench coat to dodge the rain.

For this week's Wishlist Wednesday I have selected some of my favorite items currently available at Lord & Taylor's Friends & Family sale. The sale includes 25% off regular and sale price items, use promo code: FRIENDS. Sale ends October 26. Happy shopping!

GREY PONCHO

There is something about a "no fuss" look that wins me over, especially when there is a chill in the air. A comfy sweater or a blanket poncho tossed over a tee, with my hair pulled back, is quickly become a weekend staple. I have mentioned before how much I am loving the color grey, and pairing it with black pants and moto boots adds the perfect amount of edge. Sometimes I just want to be wrapped up in a blanket on my couch with Hadley (and Matt of course) watching Netflix. The truth is though, I always have a list of errands to run or things to get done so those couch hours are few and far between. By tossing on a sweater poncho I can at least can at least bring at little of that comfy feeling with me (ok...totally not the same, but I'll keep trying to convince myself..) Have a great day!!

PINK WOOL COAT

Monday no-funday. Wishing it was still the weekend, but trying hard to get motivated for the week ahead. This past weekend was gorgeous in NYC, but it really cooled down on Sunday (which brought back some repressed memories of shooting pictures in the freezing cold last winter - certainly not looking forward to those days!)

Although I rocked this little feather number on Saturday when the sun was beaming, I definitely will be wearing it in the winter months with some opaque tights. I added a pop of color to this look with this light pink wool coat. The slightly oversized fit and the cut of this particular jacket really makes it unique. I view my outerwear as an extension of my overall look and not just as an item to keep me warm. I tend to invest in a few high-end versatile coats that will last season after season, but also try to pick up some reasonably priced jackets that are playful and bold. Hope you all had a nice weekend!
