FRIENDS + FAMILY SALE

It's that time again, where stores are starting to have their annual friends and family sale and I block out all purchases in my head until my dreaded credit card bill arrives. Lucky for me, I was able to pick up these strappy stilettos from Lord and Taylor just in time for a wedding this weekend, and also scored these distressed denim shorts from Singer22 (20% off with code: HOPONIT). I gathered a few of my favorites for you to shop below, and it just so happens that our tax returns should be settling nicely into our bank accounts right about now (but maybe not staying there all too long)!

SOHO

There are many things about living in NYC that I love, and the shopping options is definitely at the top of my list. Walking around SoHo never gets old - I find new streets and places to pop in each time I head down that way. From the restaurants to the insane, yet dangerous for my wallet, stores, I truly love walking around and getting lost in this neighborhood. Broadway is the main street in SoHo, and this is where you will find many of the larger stores, including Bloomingdales, Zara, Old Navy, and H&M, but unfortunately these plethora of shopping options also comes with huge crowds, especially on a weekend day (as you can see in the third picture below). However, beautiful and quaint cobblestone streets surround Broadway. These side streets also include great shopping options, such as JCrew, Michael Kors, and Warby Parker. When I picture New York, these are the beautiful streets that I imagine. Although most of the city shops are dog-friendly, SoHo definitely takes the "dog-friendly" policy to a new level. I love bringing Hadley down here and she takes full advantage - she usually gets no less than five dog treats from the C Wonder staff! If you have the chance to take in some SoHo shopping, I highly recommend checking out the beautifully renovated Club Monaco store and the recently opened Piperlime. For my shopping attire, I stuck to this bright blouse, jeans and glitter flats.

SUMMER SWEATER

I am still daydreaming of the gorgeous weather we experienced this past weekend and reminiscing on spending every waking minute outside. As the work week begins, I am definitely going to need an extra cup of coffee to pull my mind away from the weekend and focus on what's in store for this week! Comfy, casual, yet fun are the three words I would use to describe my outfit here. I love the symmetry of this summer sweater and how it's cut high-low across the waist. The colors are classic, but the style of my top and playfulness of the skirt make this outfit a bit unique. I wanted to keep my jewelry simple,  all while adding a touch of color with my clutch.

LACE, BLUE + BAUBLES

We made it all, Friday is finally here! I am so excited for the weekend and my best friend to visit. The weather is looking nice, so the majority of the weekend will hopefully be spent outdoors. I saved this outfit for today to end the week and start the weekend on a happy and bright note. There is nothing more feminine than a chic lace top, taffeta sapphire midi skirt and stacked baubles. I wore a nude bra underneath to showcase the lace top. Although you could wear a tank underneath, I thought it took away from some of the incredible detail of the shirt. The designer behind the skirt, Bel & Beau, hopes that we all feel inspired to take an ordinary, everyday opportunity in our life and dress it up (definitely check out her beautiful Instagram account, @belandbeau). This weekend, don't be afraid to add a swipe of color to your lips, wear a bold statement necklace, or dig deep in your closet for the fancier dress you only wore once. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

TUCKED VS. UNTUCKED

I love a good pair of high waisted, printed shorts. The best thing about shorts with this cut is that with a simple tuck, you can turn a casual look into something a bit more dressy. I shot these pictures below both ways so you can see the difference it makes. Although I would probably add a pair of wedges or heels when I tuck the top in (forgot them at home), I wanted to display a quick and easy way to create two looks. I love the untucked, relaxed look for running errands, and the tucked in look for grabbing a bite to eat on a summer day. Which do you prefer?
